Thus, the whole game will become pointless. The game doesn't pnish me for it, and doens't reward me for doing otherwise. I can progress with the game by dying over and over agian like this. If your only answer is 'you can turn it off or you can cheat', then you don't understand the effect this has on the game. Now, without that reward, what's the point? Base game, no cheats, just playing the game as a new player, why will they learn to fight the zombies? Why will they stand up and say, hmmm, there's depth to this game and if I put in work, I get rewarded. I had a reason to fight them, the reward. Sok, I learned to fight the zombies, I learned to create bases, I stopped hiding from them and when they would find me, running and dying over and over which had minimal negative effect even with the wellness system. Then, I realized that all of thse zombies game me something for killing them (it was the blood draw kit that made me realize this). When I first started playing the game, I was scared of the zombies and I ran from them and hid from them, and eventually, I just started letting them kill me. Zombie loot is gone and i replaced with random drops. The fact that you don't understand buing a game and playing it is different then cheating/modding a game seems to suggest you are biased or lack intelligence, so I'll make this slightly easier. Why you would choose the most ignorant way to avoid horde night is beyond me Just go naked somewhere right before and afk for however long If on a server then just quit til its over lol With that mentality its much easier and quicker to Originally posted by eclipse:There is loot, its just in boxes now. I know these are bitter words to swallow now that it is mid-October and well past the suggested summer release for A17, but there really are no others to be said. I urge patience and calm until we see for ourselves what they bring for our enjoyment. The Fun Pimps have never said that zombie loot was going away, but some ambiguity in one of Madmole's videos is still reasonating that fear within the community. What to carry on a long expedition? What to sell to get that needed item, knowing that a cold front or pack of dogs could be around the next hill? The decision to fight zombies is one of those choices that we should be compelled to choose, with real consequences. This game has done risk vs reward pretty well. If it turns out that the end result really is only 1/50th the loot, like you fear, then I think the community in general will be upset - myself included. However, we will only know how this will be balanced when A17 finally lands. I interpret this as meaning a lot more at once, but with fewer instances of loot. Fortunately zombies will drop loot, only less often and in a bag. I know many players are generally violently opposed to any penalty for poor gameplay, but my game experience has always taught me that the risk of loss makes the gain that much sweeter and promotes longevity in the enjoyment of a game.Īs for having a reason to actually fight zombies, I hear you loud and clear about even the thought of zombies not dropping loot. Consider playing with either the "drop everything on death" or "delete everything on death" features so that death has meaning for your style of gameplay. OP: Sounds like you find the aquisition and preservation of wealth to be the compelling feature of the game, and not survival. ![]() In fact, given these options, anyone who was truely focused on survival in a real world situation would make this cohice, there are limits to all resources, however, when i die, i respawn. No or little reward in fighting, and survival and long term viablitly seems to suggest this is the best path. So, this seems like what the devs have in mind with their changes, as it's a very valuable solution, from a survival stand point. The least important and most common resource that won't be lost is my life in this game, as i die and then respawn. If i get on a minibike, I'll waste gas, and in a survival game, you don't waste, you manage, you survive. ![]() Lose xp? All that does is give skill points, so i don't really care, i'll get them back when i lvel up again So, what's my motivation to not do this? Tropheys/achievements? You get those one time, so you do it once and then done. The wellness sytem is gone, the penalty for dying is I respawn, ther'es no loot, there's no motive to killing the zombies, and they're not a threat in the least. I can drop my loot in a chest in my base, maybe drop a bed on a tall rock, and just jump into a horde of zombies that will eat me. So, I've been looking at the new edits to the game, and looking over some things and thinking: What's to stop me from standing out in the middle of a field on horde night and dying over and over again in SP until the night is over?
